Come and dive on the HMNZS Canterbury wreck with Dive Zone Bay of Islands!
Located in Deep Water Cove along Cape Brett, the former Navy Frigate sits upright and is an amazing dive site teaming with fish life. On the deck the bow of the ship sits at 22m going down to the deck at the stern sitting at 27m. The base of the ship sits on the sand at 32-36m.
The Wreck is still fully intact, allowing many swim throughs and places to explore within the ship! The wreck was sunk by a group that included a previous owner of Dive Zone so we have some awesome pieces of the wreck on display in store that you can come and look at before and after your dive!
This dive is for PADI Advanced Divers. If you are an Open water certified diver and do not have experience diving to 30m you will need to select the Deep Adventure Dive in the 'Training Extras' options below. This Dive will then count towards your PADI Advanced Diver Course.

Trip Details
On the day of the dive trip we meet at Dive Zone Bay of Islands at 8am. We spend about 30mins completing the necessary pre-dive registration & arranging any rental gear requirements that you may have. If you are bringing your own gear, we will complete a check of the gear to ensure it is up to standard.
From here we have complimentary transport from Dive Zone to the Launch Site. Depending on the site this can take about 25-40mins to the boat ramp and then once on the boat it can take about 15-30mins to the selected dive site through the beautiful Bay of Islands or over to the Cavalli Islands. We usually return to the shop and clean gear finishing up around 4/4.30pm.
Please bring with you Lunch, water, togs & towels, cameras and sunscreen and any gear you might want to use.

If you are using your own gear it is subject to our safety checks. We reserve the right to refuse use of any equipment that does not meet our inspection standards in the interest of your safety.
IMPORTANT: Bookings are essential for all trips, & full payment is required to secure your booking. Please note that payments are only refundable if the trip is cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.
Before booking please review the PADI medical questionnaire. Answer the medical questions honestly for your safety and ours. If all answers are No you are fit to dive, if you answer Yes to any of the questions, you will need sign off by a Doctor.
